Good Food, Good Drink and Good Times!
Penny’s cafe is an Oasis in the Chihuahua Desert. Good meals that are prepared with love. All our dishes are a hardy serving that will satisfy the hungry traveler. Our menu has something for everyone’s tastes. From Country Fried Steak and Fried Shrimp to good old Cheeseburgers and fries. Oh yeah, we will deliver your meals right to your site if you prefer!
While most of our dinner dishes are served with potatoes, gravy and a vegetable. Our fish dishes are served with cucumber salad. And our sandwiches are served with our excellent French fries.
Our Germany Chicken recipe, one of our most popular dishes, is prepared fresh daily. The recipe was handed down from an excellent cook that spent many years here in Van Horn.
Penny’s Cafe has a great selection of beers from the good old standards like Bud, Miller, and Coors to local brands from the Big Bend Brewing Company such as Tejas Lager and Terlingua Gold Ale. We offer a nice wine selection that can be ordered by the glass or bottle. We carry Moscato, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and others. Just ask our friendly staff what is in stock. For the less adventurous we also serve coffee, tea and soft drinks.
To top off a perfect meal, enjoy a warm piece of cobbler covered in vanilla ice cream. What more could you ask for….. maybe another piece!
Be sure to come back for our full menu breakfast. Bacon and eggs to Belgian waffles.

“This is a former KOA but still the same campground. We have stayed here previously and really like this setup. It is all long pull-throughs and the utilities all work fine. There is an onsite small diner that we used for a nice supper. Would have had breakfast but wanted to get moving in the AM. They are now a Good Sam park. Will definitely stop here on our way back in the spring. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.”
